This roundtable event encouraged discussions on critical topics such as ransomware, cybersecurity threats and opportunities arising from AI, governance, and the integration of AI into cybersecurity measures. It emphasized the essential need for cooperation between governmental and private entities, and aimed to achieve various objectives, including sharing knowledge and real-life experiences, improving collaboration among diverse stakeholders, and developing practical strategies to leverage AI to strengthen the cybersecurity framework across the Latin American and Caribbean region. These efforts are directed towards creating a more secure digital ecosystem. During this event, the LATAM CISO Report 2024, titled “Cyber Readiness in Latin American Public Sectors: Lessons from the Frontline,” was presented. The report provides valuable insights and analysis on the cyber readiness of public sectors across Latin America.
The discussions during the event were held under Chatham House rules to encourage openness and sharing of information. The event was organized by the Digi Americas Alliance and featured participants from Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Dominican Republic, the European Union, Panama, the United States, among other invited countries, including representatives from the Congress of Colombia and other national actors.
