The Cybersecurity Best Practices Exchange between Brazil and the USA, held on August 8-9, 2024, brought together key stakeholders from both countries to discuss strategies for enhancing cybersecurity resilience. The event began with insights from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) on the importance of public-private partnerships, followed by discussions led by the U.S. Department of State and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) on international collaboration, critical infrastructure protection, and the evolving role of public-private partnerships in cybersecurity. Presentations from the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) and other agencies highlighted frameworks for AI risk management and the significance of information sharing. The event concluded with reflections on Brazil’s cybersecurity challenges, the need for continued collaboration, and the establishment of a Brazilian Cybersecurity Agency to address these issues comprehensively.
